EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT SUPPORT SYSTEMS
The ZAAM delivers interface pressures
superior to a Clintron bed at a fraction of the cost.
Medicare Part A/B recognizes multi-zoned, non-powered
pressure relieving products under Code K0413.
The Atlantis Medical ZAAM provides all of
the benefits of powered and non-powered systems in
one unit. It provides pressure relief comparable if
not better to powered air systems without the noise,
heat, power consumption and breakdowns associated
with powered air products. The ZAAMalso
provides the advantages of non-powered systems while
still providing a dynamic surface which is custom
adjusted for each patient automatically.
Pressure relief is obtained using a system of
patent pending intake and output valves. Each section
contains numerous air cells connected by manifolds to
provide equalization and maximum pressure relief.
Unlike other non- powered systems, the ZAAM
reconfigures itself with patient movement.
Shear relief is accomplished by the two way
stretch cover constructed of breathable, waterproof
material designed to fit loosely over the mattress.
This helps prevent a "hammocking effect"
which is common with other systems. The Air Zones
work independently of each other to allow the hips to
be held in place thus preventing the patient from
sliding when the head of the bed is raised.
The breathable top cover works with the ventilated
foam to draw moisture away from the patient's skin in
turn reducing maceration.
The ZAAM 'is incredibly comfortable for the
patient to rest on and can be used with standard
hospital bed frames. Simply put-the ZAAM
offers the most powerful combination of clinical and
cost effectiveness on the market today.
The ERGOCHECK is a highly precise computer-driven
pressure testing system that uses 684 individual
measuring points across the testing surface. The
system measures interface pressures in millimeters of
mercury between the "patient" and the
mattress. The computer identifies points of high
pressure which can occlude blood flow to the tissues.
A reading of 32 mmHg is recognized as the point at
blood supply to healthy tissue begins to be
interrupted by sustained pressure on the skin.
Therefore, the lower the test readings, the greater
the relief of pressure.
The ZAAM was tested five times and scored
overall body averages of between 10.203 -10.405mmHg.
Maximum pressure never exceeded 24.193mmHg.
- Anti-Shear Top Cover

The readings on the left were done on a 200 pound
male over six feet tall. The readings were recorded
at real time-lapse snapshots. Five readings were
taken to ensure accuracy in the numbers. The chart
represents the pressure readings - light green being
the lowest pressure and purple the highest. The
pressures on the patient never exceeded 24mmHg with
overall body averages in the 10-11 mmHg range.
