Growing Use of the Internet in Providing Current Information
As the world shrinks to become a "global village,"
communication become more
vital. The internet provides immediate transfer of information...no more waiting for snail
mail!
The Wound Care Institute is growing to meet the communication needs of health
professionals. Since the third newsletter, we have changed from being a "tenant"
on another site to having our own registered domain name... http://www.woundcare.org
This of course changed our e-mail address to tamara
@woundcare.org. Please note both changes. Since the Wound Care Institute is a
not-for-profit organization, we use the "org" in our name instead of the common
"com" or "net".
When Dr Fishman approached me about working on her newsletter, I thought she was
talking about a little four page flyer. When I saw the amount and depth of information she
wanted to share and I immediately thought that this was more like a textbook that one
would receive at a university and that is where I came up with the idea for a "spiral
notebook" for appearance of newsletter 4. I hope this appearance is clear on your
browser. Graphics and text often change appearance on different browsers as well as
different monitor settings. This newsletter was designed using Netscape with a size 10
font and a 15 inch monitor. Dr Fishman wants each newsletter to have its own look. If you
have a clever idea for newsletter 5, please submit your concept to either me or Dr
Fishman.
Our "off-line" newsletter on disks also has a new look with new buttons on
the tool bar to help viewers navigate from section to section without missing a page. If
you wish to order a copy of this newsletter to be viewed without being on the internet,
please contact the:
