LARGO, Fla. (April 22,1996) -- Smith & Nephew
United, a leading skin and wound care product
manufacturer for the healthcare market, introduces
its reformulated, environmentally-friendly adhesive
dressing remover, Uni-Solve®.
For use in removal of acrylic-based, rubber-based,
and hydrocolloid-based dressings as well as ostomy
faceplates, Uni-Solve contains no chlorofluorocarbon
(CFC) and leaves no greasy residue. CFC, which
contains gaseous compounds of carbon, hydrogen,
chlorine, and fluorine, is thought to be harmful to
the ozone layer of the earth's atmosphere.
The easy to use, non-irritating formula helps
reduce trauma to the skin when applied to the wound
dressing adhesive upon removal.
In addition to reformulating products for
environmental safety, Smith & Nephew has
instituted an in-house environmental campaign. The
campaign includes an environmental advisory committee
that reports directly to Smith & Nephew's board
of directors, and worldwide environmental site teams.
Smith & Nephew's worldwide healthcare group
develops, manufactures, and markets a variety of skin
care, wound management, orthopaedic, and consumer
health products.
For more information on the new CFC-free
Uni-Solve®, or any of company's other products,
