Ackrad Laboratories, Inc. introduces the Irrijet DS for wound irrigation. The Irrijet DS is a unique, spring loaded, self refilling system that quickly and easily irrigates pressure ulcers. Simple, one hand, thumb-controlled pressure provides an appropriately forceful 8 psi stream directly to the desired area. The Irrijet DS has a soft-flexible tip to minimize trauma to the patient and eliminates needle-stick for the user.
Our newly designed Splatter-Guard prevents contamination from body secretions and blood borne pathogens during the irrigation process. The Irrijet DS has a 6 ft. length of tubing leading to a spike for entry into a bag of irrigating solution.
The Irrijet DS includes a double-check valve in the hub of the spring-loaded syringe, preventing any retrograde flow. The mechanism of the double-check valve maintains sterile integrity of the Irrijet DS system, always delivering sterile solution to your patient. The spring-loaded mechanism automatically refills the syringe on demand: this helps insure adequate volumes of saline is provided to wound.
The longer tip (3 inch) allows for irrigation of deep decubitus sores that are involved in the necrotic process.
Studies show that Irrijet DS system maintains its sterility for a period of 5 days. The system is very cost effective due to the utilization over a period of days and the availability of multiple tips and splatter guards.
