Dear Colleagues,
I hope your holiday season was joyous. The first newsletter from WCI is filled with information that is intended to promote the advances of wound management and diabetic foot care. There are many groups and individuals who are receiving this newsletter, including; Doctors, nurses, physical therapists, students, hospitals, managed care companies, home health care agencies, rehabilitation centers, patients and their families as well as many others. It is my hope this organization will promote the interaction of all specialties for continued advancements in patient treatment.
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you our mission and objectives. WCI, Inc. is committed to establishing: a quarterly newsletter for the dissemination of information, a scholarship program for students and healthcare team members, a preceptorship program for continuing education, a student liaison program, an international committee and the development of educational materials including internet resources, videotapes, and slide presentations. Our objectives are to promote the interaction of all healthcare professionals to obtain a better understanding of diabetic foot pathology and wound care management.
Over the past few months, the members of WCI have worked diligently in getting to word out to the community. Many publications have been kind enough to mention our mission and list us as an additional resource to current avenues.
I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the Corporate Advisory Panel, financial contributors and all of you who have submitted information for this publication. Thank you for believing in my mission and I look forward to hearing from all of you very soon.
